My Ph.D. research longitudinally study's how physiological arousal and emotion recognition are associated to the development of sympathy, prosociality, and aggression in children. My main questions are (1) does nervous system activity (parasympathetic and sympathetic branches) relate to different social emotions and behaviours in children, (2) does poor emotion recognition in children relate to specific subtypes of aggression, and (3) are there developmental differences between children of different ages? I am also the artist and photographer for the lab’s website.
