ROP Student

As an undergraduate student studying Psychology as a Bachelor of Science, I have a passion for learning about the wonders of the human mind and how it affects us. My first interaction with anything psychology related was a novel I read in the tenth grade called “I Never Promised You a Rose Garden” by Joanne Greenberg which involves a young girl’s struggle with Schizophrenia. I began researching Schizophrenia and came across the subject of Psychology to which I became interested in the way people think, act and behave. I always knew I wanted to do so much more than just read about Psychology and Dr. Tina Malti’s Development of Children's Physiology, Attentional Control, and Emotions Research Opportunity will allow me to do just that. I am interested in learning about how social situations can have an impact on a child’s emotional responses based on the way they process the situation. I enjoy working with the creative minds of children and am excited to see how children will react to these situations when examining their visual attention in relation to their responses. This opportunity will allow me to gain insight, knowledge and experience in relation to my future career path as a clinical psychologist.
