Chanel

Tsang

Project Manager

Chanel is the project lead for pip o. She oversees knowledge translation and community engagement initiatives at the SEDI Lab. Chanel has worked with children and families for over 20 years in schools and EarlyON Child and Family Centres. One of her favourite things to do is gathering natural materials and unique art supplies to invite children (and grown ups!) to create and enjoy process art and fun art projects together. She believes that every child is an artist and that art can be a healthy and therapeutic way to express feelings, give wings to ideas, and bring people together.

Pei-Yu

Chang

Art Director

Pei-Yu Chang is the art director for pip o. She is an illustrator, author, college lecturer and translator based in Münster, Germany, originally from Taipei, Taiwan. She illustrates, writes and translates for small and big people. The pip o. Project is her collaboration with the Laboratory for Social-Emotional Development and Intervention (SEDI Lab) at the University of Toronto Mississauga. She provides creative concepts and visual representation to promote core research findings to children, young adults, and their parents and educators. As a kid grown up in her family’s printing factory, she loved to collect the leftover scraps of paper and other materials for her artworks. The smell of paper and ink mixed in the air reminds her of home.
