Social-Emotional Development and Intervention

Ever since I was eight years old, I always remember being interested in one’s motivation for engaging in particular behaviours, how people think, and how they act. At such a young age, I knew a career in psychology was for me, and currently as a second year student majoring in psychology, I still feel the same way. My interest in child psychology is reflected through my volunteer experience; I currently work with children aged nine to twelve, facilitating weekly group discussions regarding body image, problem solving, conflict resolution, peer pressure and healthy active living. My interaction with these children has given me the confidence and experience I need, to begin working in Dr. Malti’s lab.
